WCMD Monthly Meeting.
Third Friday of Each Month
We will be doing another "Butner Digging Event" sometime on March 19th!! You will NOT need a metal detector. This event is digging in WWII trash pits in search of DOG TAGS and other history for the Butner Museum!
You will need gloves, proper clothing for the elements, a digging tool, a sifting device, snacks, water, WCMD will provide a case of water, be sure to bring toiletry items - NO FACILITIES - JUST WOODS!
Welcome to Camp Butner, NC
Located in the Soldiers Memorial Sports Arena, the Camp Butner Museum provides visitors with a rich visual history of one of the Town’s most important sites. A variety of authentic World War II era artifacts are on display along with pertinent information for those wishing to learn more about military life at the camp during the war.
